25J3a; Kyle Keller Again
Kyle Keller, in the field again.
On his Birthday, no less...
His Facebook post, 9/June/2016
Today's find was surely a perfect birthday gift!
I went with Ashley Watkins, Cristopher Conti and
Rebekah Conti to the Santa Fe River for a day of fossil hunting.
My best find... a complete juvenile mammoth tooth! I'm absolutely in love with this thing.
Cris found a mostly complete one and other fragments as well. We believe the jaw is camel (camelid).
What an amazing way to spend my birthday! Thanks so much everyone for all the birthday wishes.

On 10/June/2016 Kyle posted more of the adventure, including Kyle & Cris getting caught by a thunderstorm....
Yesterdays fossil hunting trip was so grand that Cristopher Conti and I decided we better go again today while the fossil gods were still smiling upon us.
Today we found two tips of juvenile mammoth/mastodon tusks and Cris found an absolutely killer baby mammoth tooth about 5 minutes before a massive storm hit... which explains the other photo of Cris and myself taking refuge under our canoe while the sky fell out and lightning was striking all around us.
The things we will put ourselves through for fossils... Absolutely, 100% beyond worth it!
